ESL used the Polar Grip film from Drytac

Bristol-based print and signage company ESL Group has used Drytac’s Polar Grip and Interlam Pro Emerytex to produce a series of colourful floor graphics as part of a campaign to help protect rivers in Bath.

Working in partnership with SouthGate Bath and Bath and North East Somerset Council, the council aimed to engage a broad audience, particularly school-age children, highlighting the importance of reducing pollution and protecting natural resources.

The graphics needed to attract attention while also withstanding heavy foot traffic and outdoor conditions.

ESL selected Polar Grip, a polymeric self-adhesive PVC film designed for long-term durability and high bond strength across a range of surfaces.

The material was paired with Interlam Pro Emerytex, a pressure-sensitive overlaminate that provides added protection and slip resistance, creating a safe and durable solution for public spaces.

Both Polar Grip and Interlam Pro Emerytex were sourced through Premier, Drytac’s exclusive distribution partner in the UK and Ireland.

All graphics were printed in-house using an Epson SureColor S30600 eco-solvent printer, ensuring consistent quality and efficient turnaround.

Andy Jay, owner of ESL, said: “We used these materials because the base vinyl needed to have a high bond adhesive. The graphics had to perform externally and bridge across cement lines between paving slabs in a high footfall area.”
