Signs Express win British Transformation Award at annual event

Signs Express has been honoured with the Business Transformation Award impressing the judges against stiff competition.

Part of the BFA HSBC UK British Franchise Awards, the signage and graphics franchise took home the accolade at the 35th annual event held at the Telford International Centre in Shropshire on November 7.

The company’s network development officer, Aaron Davis, said: “We’re incredibly thrilled and honoured to accept the Business Transformation Award.

“It’s fantastic to see these efforts recognised amongst some of the very best in franchising.

“A big thank you goes out to our exceptional franchise support centre team, our incredible network of franchisees and of course our customers for supporting us over the past 35 years.”

Founded in 1989, Signs Express became a franchise in 1992. It offers signage and graphics solutions; designing, creating and installing a wide range of products from vehicle graphic to exhibition displays.

It is the largest signs and graphics company in the UK with 52 franchisees across 62 locations currently.

Pip Wilkins, chief executive of the BFA said: “This is such a great win for Signs Express who have brought self-employment opportunities to so many through their successful franchise model.

“The judges were very impressed by their entry, despite being up against some very stiff competition.

“We thank them for their hard work and dedication and for being great ambassadors for ethical business format franchising in the UK today.”

The awards followed the group’s annual conference where Diary of a CEO’s Steven Bartlett addressed delegates with a keynote speech.

With the tag line of ‘Discover Your Tomorrow’, the BFA is recognised as the UK’s self-regulatory body for franchising.

The results of its latest national survey in October revealed that the sector contributes £19.1 billion to the UK economy and has a failure rate of just 0.5%.
