The Big Display Company’s HP Stitch S1000 printer has allowed it to take on new work from high-profile clients

The Big Display Company revealed how its recent investment in a HP Stitch S1000 fabric and textile dye sublimation printer allowed the company to significantly improve production.

The Slough-based company, having diversified into large-format printing 20 years ago, provides a range of services to customers, spanning large format print, POS, fabrics, and short run promotional packaging.

The company, having previously purchased a HP Latex 3600 and HP Latex R-Series, took delivery of a HP Stitch S100 fabric and textile dye sublimation printer earlier this year.

Jack Murphy, marking director for The Big Display Company, said: “We are now printing our normal fabrics at a much higher capacity including flags, display polyester, and stretch fabrics, as well as a range of new paper transfer products including polyester Lycra, polyester-based canvas and backlit fabrics.”

The HP Stitch S1000 boasts a top speed of 220m sq/hr in two-pass mode, along with printing media up to 3.2m wide, 10L ink cartridges and 1200dpi resolutions print and features a print-zone dryer.

With the new machine now running unattended overnight, the company can take on high running jobs and widen its customer base, as well as enhance its offering for existing clients.

Mr Murphy concluded: “We’re delighted with the new machine. We have just gone live with our new website to allow us to make the most of the HP printer. It includes a full integration with our MIQ system printiQ which streamlines the more straightforward jobs, enabling us to focus on the more complex projects that come in.”
