Roland DG has launched its latest UV flatbed technology, which is expected to bring greater precision, speed, and printing volume to the direct-to-substrate market.

The VersaObject LO-640/300 was released on April 11 and is now expected to offer clients three times more productivity than the previous generation of hardware.

The printer has the potential to create detailed graphics on media up to 242 mm in height and 100 kg/m2 in weight, as well as substrates and objects such as plastic, leather, and wood.

It is also supported by 750ml EUV5 inks in CMYKOrRe plus Gloss, White, and Primer options, and the use of Gloss ink produces unique effects such as matte or gloss textures along with embossing.

Mark Elvidge, product manager EMEA, said, “This is truly an ideal device for customers who want high-quality print capabilities combined with impressive production volumes.

“With the diversification and individualisation of consumer needs, there is a growing demand for timely and flexible responses tailored to each customer’s requirements.

“The LO series is a powerful solution to support customers who are looking to grow their print-to-substrate business by enabling shorter delivery times, reduced costs, and higher profitability.”

The LO Series also comes with the latest VersaWorks 7 RIP software as standard.
