INFiLED has helped al-media transform the foyer of Cologne’s oldest surviving theatre into an immersive visual experience ahead of performances of the award-winning musical comedy Himmel und Kölle.

Audiences at the Volksbühne at Rudolfplatz were welcomed into an alternative version of the Cologne through a striking 70m/sq LED installation that turned the theatre entrance into a gallery.

al-media was tasked with bringing this LED display to life, and as the deadline was fast approaching INFiLED’s close Rotterdam depot made it al-media’s clear choice in LED display manufacturer.

In total, almost 70m/sq of LED screens were installed, using 331 cabinets configured as vertical pillars throughout the foyer.

Each cabinet was made out of aluminium and weighed 5.2kg each and featured an ultra-slim depth of 29.5mm, enabling installation against uneven walls without bulky substructures.

Its wide 160 degree viewing angle additionally delivered consistent colour and brightness from all perspectives, and the modular, front-serviceable design simplifies maintenance.

André Lyrmann, CEO of al-media, said: “We’re very happy with INFiLED’s support; the short delivery time in particular convinced us. We are certain that choosing INFiLED was a better value and better option overall than any alternatives.”
