In a joint effort to humanise the paediatric hospital experience, HP has collaborated with Hospital Germans Trias and Nixi for Children to transform the paediatric preoperative area of the health centre.

Thanks to HP Latex printing technology, large-format illustrated vinyls have been created and installed in the preoperative waiting room and the hallway leading to the operating room, transforming a clinical environment into a space full of light and colour – more welcoming and comforting for young patients. These illustrations turn the surgical waiting room into a place where children can feel calmer and accompanied.

Daniel Martinez, global head and general manager, HP Large Format Business, said: “Innovation truly makes sense when it improves people’s lives. This project is a great example of how we can contribute to creating more human and empathetic environments, capable of transforming the mood of these little heroes and their families.

“We are especially proud to have participated in this initiative, which not only seeks to support children in such delicate situations, but also demonstrates that innovation can and should have a social purpose. It is exciting to see how technology, from a sustainable perspective, can transform the hospital environment into a space filled with light, colour, and hope.”

The vinyls were printed with the HP Latex 2700 W printer, using our latest generation of HP Latex inks, which are water-based.

Printing was carried out by ALIUM, an HP customer equipped with fourth-generation HP Latex printers.

With initiatives like this, HP continues to demonstrate that technology can play an essential role in improving the paediatric hospital experience, putting innovation at the service of people and the emotional care of children.
